9. The Central government has submitted its guidelines to regulate the sale and purchase of acid to the Supreme Court. According to the guidelines, no one will be able to purchase acid without submitting a photo ID. Also, shopkeepers who sell acid will have to obtain a licence to do the same.

10. President Pranab Mukherjee on 16 July 2013 launched a Kisaan Portal for sending SMS through mobile phones to the farmers across the country. The SMS initiative is an instant and non-intruding medium communication enabling the farmers to take informed decision relating to different aspects of farming and weather forecasts.

11. Russia launches its biggest military maneuvers to boost the military's mobility and combat readiness. It involves 160,000 troops and about 5,000 tanks across Siberia and the far eastern region.

12. The US space agency NASA has said a tiny new moon has been spotted circling Neptune. This will be the 14th known to be orbiting the far away planet.The moon is believed to circle Neptune once every 23 hours.

13. Afridi becomes first player in ODIs to claim 350 wickets and score 7000-plus runs.
