2. President Pranab Mukherjee Friday promulgated the national food security ordinance, which aims to provide subsidised food grain to around 67 percent of India's 1.2 billion people.
3. At PMG Junction in the capital city, Kerala’s first all-women post office has opened its doors to the public. Its four employees, from the post master to the helper, are women. The post office will only be officially be inaugurated on Friday
4.Padma Shree Awardee Mahasundari Devi painting artist Mahasundari Devi died at a private hospital in Ranti, near Madhubani on 4 July 2013. She was renowned for her mastery over Sikki work, ‘sujani’ craft, clay work and paper macheapart from Mithila painting.
